UBM Index Trade Fairs to welcome the 28th edition of INDEX with concept spaces
UBM Index Trade fairs, organisers of the flagship show INDEX, India`s leading international interiors, architecture and design event are hosting the 28th edition of the fair from 13th-16th October at a new and bigger venue this year, the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre.
This year, the show will have a presence of over 400 brands and is proud to include country pavilions from China, Turkey and Taiwan along with other international participation from Japan, Malaysia, France and Thailand.
The four day trade fair will connect buyers and traders dealing in residential, office & outdoor furniture; interior accessories & artefacts; paintings & sculptures; modular kitchens & appliances; furniture & architectural hardware; flooring, plywood, laminates, materials; woodworking, etc. and aims to attract leading architects, interior designers, builders, project managers, hoteliers, heads across hospitality, corporate and government sectors, ultra HNIs and fashionistas.
The event is supported by All India Hardware Association, Hospitality Purchasing Managers Forum (HPMF), Taiwan Furniture Manufacturers Association (TFMA), Furniture Association from Turkey (MARMOB), Istanbul Exporters Association (IEA), Association of Designers of India, Association of Architects Builders Interior Designers and Allied Business (ABID) and MCHI-CREDAI.
The B2B trade show is set to witness the presence of connoisseurs of interior designing and will see the participation of top architects, designers and builders from across the country. The expo will have over 400 brands including Godrej Interio, Kurlon, Century Ply, Spacewood, Hettich, Monarch, Ebco, Labacha, Bose hardware, Trezure Furniture, Empire Furniture, Futuristic, Oswal Hardware and Kkolar amongst others who will display their latest, in vogue products and offerings.
A number of novel artistic spaces and workshops will add value to the show. To be held in association with the leading design publication ‘Index Furniture Journal’ ( IFJ ), INDEX will feature an ‘Art Enclave’ that will display signature paintings and sculptures by renowned artists while ‘Play the network’ will provide a relaxed and informal arena for the industry fraternity to connect and network. A design initiative ‘INDEX DESIGN BOULEVARD’ will feature eclectic concept spaces by leading architects in a completely non-commercial rendition and ‘Kudos gallery’ will include a walk-through space showcasing the best of architectural prowess, what’s new or turnkey, and the latest trends from this industry by designers such as Ria Talati, Arjun Malik, Rahul Kadri, Raivi Sarangan, Puran Kumar, Reza Kabul, KNS architects, DSP architects amongst others.
One the key highlights of the fair will be a solo exhibition of Vrindavan Solanki at the Art Enclave. A renowned artist, Solanki has been acknowledged and awarded by the Bombay Art society and the Gujarat Lalit Kala Akademi. The exhibition will be organised by Aura Art eConnect Pvt. Ltd. at the Aura Art booth. Other highlights include, a huge 2000 square foot design installation called URBAN CHAOS from AR Sanjay Puri which will be used as an interactive design space. The fair will also feature an eye-catching India Design Pavilion by the reupted National Institute of Design and a stunning Design Atrium designed by AR Prem Nath.
INDEX will also include a seminar with content-rich sessions which will be held in association with IFJ on SOCIAL HOUSING: INHUMAN REALITY AND HUMAN SOLUTIONS that will feature a galaxy of speakers and panellists: Padma Bhushan Ar. Hafeez Contractor, Shri Aman Nath, Chairman, Neemrana Hotels, Nayan Shah, Managing Director, MayFair Builders, Ar. Carlos Gomez, CGA Architects, Singapore and Ms. Sylvia Khan, Editor, IFJ India amongst others. Day 2 will see both industry and design events — ‘IFJ-NID LIVING CRAFTS!’ Kitchen industry meet and Launch of IFJ Kitchen Catalog. Day 3 will see panel discussions with leading procurement professionals from the hospitality industry which will be moderated by Hospitality Procurement Managers Forum (HPMF). Day 4 will witness an Industry meet of furniture manufacturers across India and will have a panel discussion on fairs in China and doing business with Chinese partners.
