Dell has partnered with National Geographic explorer, Mike Libecki to work at Jhamtse Gatsal Children’s Community in the remote village of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The community houses and schools about 90 underprivileged children. It aims at providing better lives for these children by helping them realize their potential to the fullest.

Tawang does not have access to some of the latest technologies that could help them in their day-to-day lives and boost the quality of education. Mike Libecki along with the Dell team helped in setting up solar panels, internet, and Dell computers.

Mike and his team, along with the Dell employees set up the internet and installed 20 new laptops and printers. During their stay at Jhamste, they trained the teachers and students on how to use computers to help streamline their education and ultimately create an opportunity and a better quality of life in the years to come. To power these computers and keep them working throughout the year, Goal Zero provided solar panels, lights, and solar generators, which were installed personally by the team to ensure proper functioning of the machines in the long-run.

This is Libecki’s fourth and biggest humanitarian project partnering with Dell. In the past, he has installed solar panels, generators, and laptops in Peru, Nepal & Tanzania.

Speaking about the initiative Mike Libecki said, “The Joyineering Fund, our family’s non-profit organization aims to bring more joy to the world. We specialize in going to the most remote communities that require help with educational components like computers and internet, sustainable necessities like solar energy. We rely on teamwork and Dell, our main partner for this project at the Jhamtse Gatsal Children’s Community in Arunachal Pradesh, played a pivotal role in making this possible. In a world where we can be and do anything, be kind and do good. I sincerely thank Dell for their kindness and commitment to making this project a reality.”

Adding to this, Rajeev Kapoor, India Vice President, and CSR champion, Dell India said, “Dell’s purpose as a company is to drive human progress through technology. That would mean investing in innovation that reduces environmental impact and ensuring progress of underserved communities. Associating with Mike Libecki to work at Jhamtse Gatsal Children’s Community in Arunachal Pradesh is a step towards achieving that. We firmly believe that through the participation of team members in supporting non-profits, the impact of our social initiatives and partnerships becomes even greater. Hence we encourage everyone at Dell to be a part of such efforts.”
