Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com company, will host the first machine learning (ML) edition of its online Innovate Conference in Asia Pacific on February 22, to help customers take advantage of the immense opportunities presented by ML technology. Registration is free.

Amazon has been investing deeply in artificial intelligence for over 20 years, with ML algorithms driving many of its internal systems. This technology is now available to customers, with AWS committed to enabling developers and scientists to use ML more expansively to deliver more personalized user experiences, and drive business automation at scale.

During the event, AWS ML experts will explore how customers like Australian-headquartered iSentia, along with Netflix, Pinterest, and Expedia, are using AWS ML services to unlock the intelligence within their data to create a new generation of intelligent applications.

The conference is one of many education and training forums that customers can access to learn how to take advantage of AWS ML, and explore some of the new services announced at AWS re:Invent late last year. These included Amazon SageMaker, a fully managed service for developers and data scientists to quickly build, train, deploy, and manage their own machine learning models; and AWS DeepLens, a deep learning-enabled wireless video camera that can run real-time computer vision models to give developers hands-on experience with ML. In addition, four new application services were announced, that allow developers to build applications that emulate human-like cognition: Amazon Transcribe for converting speech to text; Amazon Translate for translating text between languages; Amazon Comprehend for understanding natural language; and Amazon Rekognition Video, a new computer vision service for analyzing videos in batches, and in real-time. The panel of experts at the AWS Innovate Conference will be led by Dr. Matt Wood, General Manager for Artificial Intelligence at AWS; and Glenn Gore, Chief Solutions Architect at AWS. Sessions will be offered for all levels of experience, ranging from Introductory (level 100) to Expert (level 400), and will be available in English and Korean.
