Mumbai to host First Network Virtualization & SDN India Conclave

India’s first summit on rapidly emerging technologies – Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is being organized by Konnect Worldwide Business Media on the 3rd of May, 2017 in Mumbai.

The conclave is supported by leading technology firms – Huawei, Oracle, Lavelle Networks, Happiest Minds Technologies and Open Networking Foundation.

Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) are touted to lead the transformation of the Indian Telecom industry. These technologies hold special importance for telecom service providers to enable them to get maximum return on investment on the 3G and 4G networks.  SDN and NFV enable telcos to efficiently scale the networks by automating the processes; improving resource utilization and service assurance, hence helping them manage the networks better. Telcos now more than ever need to virtualize networks with the exponential growth in consumption of video and data content.

The conclave will see senior leadership who are driving the SDN & NFV initiatives share insights from the use cases in India and around the world from telecom, cloud, datacentre, mobile spaces.

According to the latest industry reports 26 billion connected devices would be active on the networks by 2020 of which 15 billion will be mobiles and computers. Also, 63% of large enterprises in India plan to deploy SDN as part of their network architecture as soon as 2017. Moreover, the worldwide SDN market for the enterprise and cloud service provider segments will grow from $960 million in 2014 to over $8 billion by 2018, representing a robust CAGR of 89.4%.
